Using in vivo tracing techniques and intracellular recordings paired in anaestethized mice combined with immunohistochemistry at the light and electron microscopic level, the project aims at identifying the main cell types of the basolateral nucleus and intercalated cell masses (two brain areas intimately involved in the generation of fear and anxiety) and their participation in the intrinsic and extrinsic circuitries of these regions.
