Neuropeptide Y receptors in anxiety- and fear-related behaviour Prof. Dr. Günther Sperk Department of Pharmacology, Medical University Innsbruck

Using stereotactic injections of a viral Cre-recombinase vector in conditional knock out mice, Y1- and Y2-NPY receptors will be selectively deleted in defined nuclei of the amygdala and other brain areas involved in the processing of emotions. Subsequent behavioural testing of the animals will allow determining the role of NPY in modulating fear and anxiety in these brain areas.
