The conference will cover topics on optical traps, optical binding and self-assembly of particles, laser micro-beams, and biological and technological applications of these. Apart from these main topics, stimulating “side-glances” to related topics ranging from nanotechnology to microfluidics will be included.
We will create a meeting place for the leading scientists and trendsetters to highlight the state of the art in optical micromanipulation, and to discuss and evaluate the future of the field, particularly the next steps into applications that are so crucial now. We will try to find the perfect blend between established group leaders and promising young people, and we will provide ample room for scientific interaction between these two groups of people.
We look forward to seeing you in April 2010 in Obergurgl.
